The Health and Safety of our divers, staff and members is of paramount importance to us at Scuba School.
We are therefore pleased to be one of the first centres to offer the PADI/RNLI Diver Sea Survival Course, the latest PADI Distinctive Speciality, open to all divers who are Open Water qualifed or above.
This courses teaches divers how to be even safer in the water and demonstrates techniques for enhanced survival should the worst ever happen.
This PADI Distinctive Speciality has been designed in association with the RNLI, whose volunteers regularly risk their lives to rescue those in trouble at sea. As divers we all have a responsibility to ensure that we mitigate every possible risk to ourselves and others that could result from our recreation.
This course gives experienced and new divers alike the opportunity to consider what other steps they could take to prevent the emergency from ever occuring, but should it occur, it equips divers with the skills and knowledge to self-rescue and to help others. It explores how we can survive at sea long enough for the RNLI to find and rescue a diver, a process which can be shortened by having the right equipment.
